That entry is thought to be a homage for the ilustrators of the common things that succed before the colour photography was a thing, wonderful chronists of the reality with an excelent technique. Leyendecher, a german ilustrator, and a very good Norman Rockwell’s friend but with an style that could be defined as less hyperrealist or more personal.
The Leyendecher’s influence is clear in so many publicitary artists, an influence that, as Rockwell’s is still alive.
As some other illustrators of their time, are so linked to the Second World War, in his personal case, he painted war bonuses.
I want to thank Pepa Saavedra, that made me discover than great illustrator.
